About

I build products for the first-time-internet user in India. Eleven years across payments, lending and marketplaces — most of it spent in rooms where the customer was not in the room, so I learned to bring them in. I care about distribution as much as design: a product that nobody can reach is a prototype. I have led teams of up to 24 across product, design and data, and I prefer written thinking over meetings.

UPI-first credit line at PayNova

Product lead, team of 4 engineers and 1 designer

What did you do, and why that approach?

Built and launched a small-ticket credit product distributed entirely through UPI rails, targeting users with thin credit files. Owned strategy, underwriting partnerships with two NBFCs, and the end-to-end funnel from intent to first repayment. The hardest part was not the product — it was designing repayment nudges that worked for cash-salaried users.

What changed because of this work?

Grew to 1.4M activated users and $12M in disbursed credit in 14 months, with 30-day delinquency at 1.9% — half the category benchmark.

Merchant onboarding rebuild

Product owner

What did you do, and why that approach?

Rebuilt a 9-step KYC and onboarding flow that was losing two out of three merchants before activation. Ran 40 in-store interviews across three cities, then cut the flow to 3 steps with async verification.

What changed because of this work?

Activation rate went from 34% to 71%; support tickets on onboarding dropped 62%.
